Rather than beating the competition, the aim is to make the competition irrelevant by inventing a new value curve. Experience Co-Creation and Blue Ocean strategies are examples of value innovation frameworks.
Both Experience Co-Creation and Blue Ocean Strategies have the same outcome: the development of a value curve that is significantly different from competitors.
The Experience Co-Creation framework focuses on the experience created for the customer. Experience co-creation creates value at the point of interaction between a company and its customers. This approach enables us to identify innovative value attributes. Then we formulate value creation and innovation opportunities that match our client’s products and processes and that cover their customers’ needs.
Blue Ocean Strategyis about inventing a new value curve by reducing some factors below the industry standard, by raising some factors above the industry standard, by eliminating factors that the industry takes for granted, by creating factors that the industry has never offered. To facilitate this type of strategy formulation we perform a competitor analysis and an analysis of our clients’ core competences. The crucial issue is than to determine whether our client’s distinctive competences are translatable into developing innovative value attributes.
