A strategy map is used to come to an agreement and to have a good understanding of the strategy. The strategy map is a visual representation of the road to success. To effectively describe this road, cause-and-effect relationships between critical success factors will provide great insight into the drivers and outcomes of strategic performance. A strategy map describes the strategy story and helps everybody to stipulate their critical success factors as well as the causal relations between them.
